> Invite people to one project as Viewer, Editor or Admin, share it with a team, a workspace or by link, and see who can do what.

Share a project from its **Share** tab. A person who already has a Playcode account gets access at once; anyone else gets an email invitation. Sharing gives access to the project and its chats. It does not publish anything.

## Do it yourself

1. Open the project and choose **Publish** at the top of the editor, then the **Share** tab. Or open the project menu (☰ and the project name) and choose **Share project…**. A project that was never saved asks you to choose **Save Project** first.
2. Type an email address into **Invite by email...**.
3. Choose the role next to it: **Viewer**, **Editor** or **Admin**. The table below says what each one can do.
4. Choose **Invite**. If the person has a Playcode account, the app says "Access granted", and the project appears under **SHARED WITH ME** in their left panel; Playcode sends no email. Otherwise the app says "Invitation sent": they get an email with a link, and **People** shows them as **Invitation pending** until they accept.
5. To share with a whole team in a team workspace, under **Access** pick the team in **Add a team…**, choose its role and choose **Add**. People who join the team later get the same access.
6. To change someone's role, use the menu next to their name. To remove someone, choose × (**Remove access**).
7. To send someone the project's address, choose **Copy editor link**. A new project starts private: someone you did not invite can open the link only after you set **Anyone with the link** to **Can view**.

What each role can do in a project:

| | Viewer | Editor | Admin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open the project, its preview and its chats | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Send messages to the agent, change files and settings | No | Yes | Yes |
| Save and restore checkpoints in a static site | No | Yes | Yes |
| Open a terminal in a Cloud app | No | Yes | Yes |
| Invite people and change their roles | No | No | Yes |
| Publish, unpublish, and save or restore checkpoints in a Cloud app | No | No | Yes |
| Delete the project, move it to another workspace, connect a custom domain | No | No | No |

The project's creator can do everything in the table, and so can an Admin of the project's workspace. Only the creator can make someone an Admin of the project.

## If it doesn't work

### "Project admins can share with existing Playcode users only."

A project Admin can add people who already have an account. To invite someone new, ask the project's creator or a workspace Admin.

### The invitation expired or never arrived

An invitation lasts 7 days. Next to a pending invitation, choose the link button (**Copy invite link**) and send the link yourself, or choose **Revoke** to cancel it. To send a fresh one, invite the same address again.

### There is no invite field

Only the project's creator, a project Admin or a workspace Admin can invite people. A Viewer or an Editor sees the list of people only. Someone you shared with can leave the project with × next to their own name (**Leave shared project**).

## Limits

- People you invite to a project get that project only. They do not join your workspace and do not count toward its member limit.
- **Anyone with the link** is separate from the people list. **Can view** means "Anyone on the internet with the link can view". **No access** keeps the project private, on every plan, and a new project starts with it: see [Make a project private](/docs/build/make-a-project-private).
- In a team workspace, the row **Everyone at** and the workspace name sets what all members get: **No access**, **Can view** or **Can edit**. When a person has access in several ways, the strongest one counts. See [Workspaces, members and roles](/docs/build/workspaces-members-and-roles).
- In a static site, the creator also sees **Anyone with link can edit** ("Great for coding interviews and pair programming sessions") and **Anyone with link can use AI** (paid plans). Turning on editing also turns on the view link.
- Someone else who opens your static site's link can choose **Remix Project** in its **Share** tab to make their own copy. Your project stays as it is.
- The agent's work in a shared project is paid from the project's workspace, whoever sends the message.
- The agent cannot invite people or change roles. Sharing stays with you.
