Buy and manage your domain in Playcode. Connect a project when you are ready. You can secure the name before you build the product.
Buying a domain needs a Pro or Max plan. Registration and renewals go on the workspace's saved card, not your credits.
Buy the name. Playcode connects it.
Buy it from your project, and Playcode registers the name for a year, runs its DNS, turns on HTTPS and points it at your site. You watch each step:

A new name can take a few minutes to reach every network, sometimes up to an hour. Then confirm the owner's email from the message Playcode sends, as ICANN requires.
Secure the name before you build.
Buy it from Settings, under Domains, before any project exists. When your site is ready, open the domain, choose the site and point the name at it.
The domain belongs to your workspace, so it can point at any of its projects.
Bring a domain you already own.
Keep it at the registrar where you bought it, and connect it in one of two ways:
Connecting a domain you own adds no charge. Custom domains need a Pro or Max plan.
A .com is $18.99 a year.
Search shows each name's first-year price and its renewal price before you buy. Prices in US dollars, for one year:

The workspace's saved card pays, never your credits. Auto-renew is on by default and charges the card 30 days before the name expires.
Buying needs a Pro or Max plan, Admin rights in the workspace and a card saved to it. WHOIS privacy is included where the ending allows it.
Your name stays yours.
A domain bought here is a normal registration in your name, and nothing locks it to Playcode. To move it to another registrar, unlock it on the domain's page and copy its transfer code. Playcode charges nothing to move a domain away.
Playcode sells domains as a reseller. The registrar of record is Tucows Domains Inc. (OpenSRS), and registrations follow ICANN policy.
Questions about Playcode Domains
Can Playcode's agent buy a domain for me?
Yes. In your project, ask something like “Find a domain like example.com for this site and buy it.” The agent searches, shows the price and asks you to confirm before it buys. Then it connects the name to the project.
Can I get email at my domain?
Your app can send email from it through Playcode Email. When the domain's DNS runs on Playcode in the same workspace, the sending records are added for you. Playcode does not host inboxes: for an address you read, use the email provider you choose and add its records in the domain's DNS settings.
Can I edit the DNS records myself?
Yes, for a domain bought here or one whose DNS you moved here, in Settings, under Domains. A change takes effect in about a minute, and History lets you undo it.
What if the name I want is taken?
Search tells you before you pay. If the name is already yours at another registrar, connect it instead.
What if the registration fails?
You do not pay for it. The payment is refunded automatically and reaches your card within a few days.
Can I cancel a domain after buying it?
There is no cancel button after a purchase, and a payment is refunded only when the registration fails. If you no longer want the name, turn off auto-renew, and it lapses when its year ends.
