Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least thirteen years old to use the Service. If you are under eighteen, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of the Service

Playcode is an online coding environment that allows users to write, run, save, share, and host code projects directly in the browser. The Service includes free and paid plans with different limits and features, as described on https://playcode.io/pricing.

3. Accounts

Some features require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Content & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all projects and content you create on Playcode, including:

• Source code you write
• Files you upload
• Code generated using AI features

Playcode does not claim ownership over your projects or AI-generated output.

You grant Playcode a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely as necessary to operate the Service (for example: running code, saving projects, or serving shared links).

5. Public & Private Projects

A new project you create while signed in is private until you make it public; a project you start before you sign in is publicly accessible.

• Public projects may be viewed and accessed by anyone with the link.
• Any project can be set as private, on every plan, including the free plan. A private project can be opened only by you and the people you give access to.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you make public does not violate laws or third-party rights.

6. Commercial Use

You may use Playcode for commercial, educational, and professional purposes, including building projects for clients, demos, or production use.

7. Third-Party Content & Packages

The Service may include or allow use of third-party libraries, frameworks, and packages (such as npm modules). Your use of such content is subject to their respective licenses.

Playcode is not responsible for the functionality, security, or licensing of third-party code. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the licenses of any packages you use.

8. AI Features & Credits

Playcode may provide AI-powered features that consume AI credits. AI credits are a prepaid usage unit and are consumed when you trigger an AI request, regardless of whether the result meets your expectations.

Credits may also be consumed by other metered platform capabilities, such as hosted Cloud usage, where indicated in the product or on the pricing page.

Credits are tied to the account or workspace to which they were granted. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be transferred or sold to another account, except where required by law.

AI credit pricing, usage limits, and availability may change and depend on the pricing and costs of underlying AI providers. We do not guarantee fixed AI pricing or availability.

Unused AI credits do not roll over unless explicitly stated. Specifically:

• Subscription credits are added at the start of each billing cycle. On monthly plans, unused subscription credits roll over to the next cycle and expire one month after it starts; on annual plans, they roll over until the subscription ends.
• Top-up credits remain valid for twelve months from your most recent top-up purchase: each new top-up extends all of your unused top-up credits to twelve months from that purchase. After that period, unused top-up credits expire and are forfeited.

9. Payments, Billing & AI Credits

Playcode offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (Pro and Max), as well as one-time top-ups that add additional AI credits to your balance.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. By subscribing or by purchasing a top-up, you authorize us to charge applicable fees according to your selected plan or top-up package. For subscriptions, you also authorize recurring charges on each renewal date until you cancel.

You may cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time from your account billing page. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access through that date, unless you choose to cancel immediately: then paid features end at once, without a refund for the remaining time. If you delete your account, the subscription of your personal workspace is cancelled at the end of the current billing period.

AI credits are prepaid usage units. When you use AI features, Playcode may incur third-party AI provider costs for the request, and those provider costs cannot be recovered after the work has been performed.

AI credits and credit top-ups are final and non-refundable, including unused, partially used, or expired AI credits. Top-ups cannot be canceled after purchase. Once a top-up payment is processed and credits are added to your balance, the credit purchase is complete.

Subscription charges for the current billing period are not automatically refunded when you cancel or downgrade. If you believe a subscription charge was made in error, contact us so we can review the account and payment history.

If you believe a charge is incorrect or unauthorized, contact ruslan@playcode.io before initiating a chargeback. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute in violation of this section may result in suspension or termination of your account under Section 13.

10. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Playcode for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Hate speech or harassment
• Pornographic or sexually explicit content
• Phishing, scams, or fraudulent activity
• Malware, exploits, or infrastructure abuse
• Copyright or trademark infringement
• Attempts to bypass limits or security controls
• Accessing, collecting, or harvesting another person's personal data - including names, email addresses, IP addresses, or location data - by any means (Section 23)
• Automated access, scraping, crawling, or bulk extraction of the Service or any data available through it (Section 23)
• Probing, scanning, or testing the security of the Service, or exploiting any vulnerability (Section 24)

Violation may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account, and in the remedies described in Section 25.

11. DMCA & Copyright Complaints

If you believe that content hosted on Playcode infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request by contacting ruslan@playcode.io with:

• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the infringing content
• Your contact information
• A statement of good-faith belief
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

12. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time using the account deletion option available in your profile settings.

Upon deletion, your account and associated data may be permanently removed, subject to technical and legal requirements.

13. Termination by Playcode

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, upon reasonable notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may, but are not obligated to, provide an opportunity to retrieve your content before deletion.

14. Intellectual Property (Playcode)

All Playcode platform software, interfaces, branding, and trademarks (excluding user projects) are owned by Playcode or its licensors.

You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service without permission.

15. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or data preservation.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playcode shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

18. Connected Accounts

The Service may allow you to connect third-party accounts (such as Notion, Google Search Console, Gmail, and Google Calendar) to your Playcode workspace. By connecting an account, you authorize Playcode to access and act on that service on your behalf, within the permissions (scopes) you grant during the provider's consent flow, and only in response to your requests and settings.

You are responsible for your use of any connected account, including the content you access, create, or send through it, and for complying with the third-party provider's own terms of service and policies. Playcode is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Notion, Google, or any other connection provider; their names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

You may disconnect a connected account at any time from your workspace settings. Disconnecting revokes Playcode's access and permanently deletes the stored access credentials for that connection. You can also revoke Playcode's access from the third-party provider's own security settings.

Connected-account features depend on the third-party service. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, their API changes, or actions they take, and we may add, change, or discontinue support for a connection provider at any time. How we handle data from connected accounts, including Google user data, is described in our Privacy Policy.

19. Domain Registration

The Service may allow eligible accounts to search for and register domain names inside the product ("Playcode Domains"). Playcode acts as a reseller of domain registration services; the sponsoring registrar is Tucows (operating the OpenSRS platform). By registering a domain, you agree to the registrar's registration agreement, the applicable registry's terms, and the policies of ICANN, including the Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities described at https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/benefits-2013-09-16-en.

You must provide accurate and current registrant contact information and keep it up to date. Providing false contact information, or failing to respond to a registrant verification request, can lead to suspension of the domain under ICANN rules. Where the domain ending supports it, WHOIS privacy is enabled by default; registration data may still be disclosed where required by the registrar, the registry, or applicable law.

Domain fees (registration, renewal, redemption, and related fees) are charged separately from subscription fees and AI credits. Domain fees are non-refundable once a registration or renewal has been processed, except where required by law. Domain prices may change; renewals are billed at the then-current price for the domain ending.

Unless you disable auto-renewal, domains renew automatically and your saved payment method is charged before the expiration date. If a domain is not renewed, it expires and may pass through post-expiry and redemption periods with additional fees before it is released. Our renewal, expiration, and redemption fees and notification practices are described at https://playcode.io/help/domain-renewals-and-fees.

Domains may be subject to transfer locks (including the 60-day locks that apply after a registration or transfer under ICANN policy) and to third-party dispute policies such as the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS). You may transfer a domain to another registrar in accordance with ICANN transfer policy.

20. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Playcode regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

22. Contact Information

For questions or legal notices regarding these Terms, contact:

23. Automated Access, Scraping & Data Collection

The Service, its interfaces, and all data reachable through them - including any application programming interface ("API"), GraphQL endpoint, internal endpoint, or undocumented endpoint - are made available for interactive use by human users through our official clients.

You may not, and may not permit any other person or system to:

• access the Service by automated means, including scrapers, crawlers, bots, scripts, headless browsers, or autonomous agents, except (i) search-engine crawlers acting in accordance with our published robots.txt, or (ii) our documented API, used with valid credentials issued to you and within any published rate limits;
• collect, harvest, extract, copy, index, aggregate, or store data about other users or their projects - including names, email addresses, IP addresses, locations, account or usage data, project contents, or metadata - whether that data is displayed publicly, returned by an endpoint, or otherwise reachable;
• enumerate identifiers, iterate over sequential or guessable resource identifiers, or otherwise retrieve resources in bulk;
• circumvent, disable, or interfere with any rate limit, quota, authentication, access control, CAPTCHA, or other technical measure that restricts or meters access, including by rotating IP addresses, accounts, or credentials; or
• use, publish, sell, distribute, or transfer data obtained in breach of this Section, or use it to train any model.

Reachable is not authorized. The fact that a resource, field, or endpoint can be reached without authentication, or is returned in a response, does not grant permission to access, collect, or retain it. Your authorization under these Terms is limited to interactive use through our official clients and to any API access we have granted you in writing. We may withdraw that authorization at any time, with or without notice.

Other people's personal data is not yours to collect. If you collect personal data through the Service, you do so without our authorization and without any lawful basis derived from us, and you alone are responsible for that processing as a controller under applicable data protection law, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Deletion on demand. If we determine that you have obtained data in breach of this Section, then on our written request you must immediately stop all access, permanently delete every copy of that data (including derivatives, backups, exports, and training sets), and certify that deletion to us in writing within five business days.

24. Security Testing & Vulnerability Reporting (No Bug Bounty)

We do not authorize security testing. You may not probe, scan, penetration-test, fuzz, stress-test, or otherwise test the vulnerability of the Service or of any system or network connected to it, and you may not exploit any vulnerability you become aware of. Nothing in these Terms, on our website, or in any reply from us grants authorization, consent, or "authorized access" for the purposes of any computer misuse law.

We do not run a bug bounty program. Playcode operates no bug bounty, vulnerability reward, or researcher payment program. We do not pay for vulnerability reports, and we will not negotiate any payment, fee, consulting arrangement, or other consideration in exchange for a report, for silence, for the deletion of data, or for the non-publication of a finding. A communication that conditions disclosure, deletion, or non-publication on payment or any other benefit is not a security report: it is an extortion attempt, and we will refer it to law enforcement.

Good-faith reports are welcome. If you come across a potential vulnerability incidentally, without exploiting it and without accessing, collecting, or keeping any data belonging to another person, please report it privately to security@playcode.io and give us a reasonable period to fix it before any disclosure. We acknowledge good-faith reports and we do not intend to pursue legal action against a person who reports in good faith, who accessed no more data than was strictly necessary to demonstrate the issue, who deleted any such data immediately, who did not disclose it publicly or to any third party, and who made no demand for payment. This paragraph states our intention. It is not a licence, a bug bounty, a safe harbour, or a waiver of any right.

Outside good faith. The following are material breaches of these Terms and fall outside the paragraph above: accessing, copying, or retaining data belonging to another user; automated exploitation or bulk extraction; denial-of-service, load, or stress testing; social engineering of our users, staff, or suppliers; physical or supply-chain attacks; publishing, threatening to publish, or offering to sell a vulnerability or data obtained through it; and any demand for payment or other benefit.

Legal consequences. Unauthorized access to a computer system, and unauthorized extraction of data from one, may be a criminal offence and may give rise to civil liability - including under the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. 1030), U.S. state computer crime and data protection statutes, the UK Computer Misuse Act 1990, EU Directive 2013/40/EU and its national implementations, and comparable laws elsewhere. A threat made to obtain money or anything of value may constitute extortion, including under 18 U.S.C. 875. We reserve every remedy available to us.

25. Enforcement, Remedies & Law Enforcement

Where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate your account, block your access (including by IP address, network, or device), rate-limit or refuse requests, and remove content.

You acknowledge that a breach of Section 10, Section 23, or Section 24 would cause us harm for which money damages would be an inadequate remedy, and that we may seek injunctive or other equitable relief without the need to post a bond, in addition to any other remedy available to us.

We log access to the Service. Where we believe an offence may have been committed, or where the law requires it, we may preserve and disclose logs, account records, IP addresses, and related information to law enforcement, to regulators, and to our legal advisers, and we may do so without notice to you.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you will indemnify us against, and reimburse us for, any loss, liability, cost, and expense - including reasonable legal fees and the cost of investigation, remediation, and any notification to affected individuals or regulators - arising from your breach of Section 10, Section 23, or Section 24.

Our failure or delay in enforcing any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision or of any other.
