Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PlayCode, available at https://playcode.io and related subdomains (the "Service").

The Service is operated by Ruslan Ianberdin, a solo proprietor based in the United States ("PlayCode", "we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy at https://playcode.io/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least thirteen years old to use the Service. If you are under eighteen, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of the Service

PlayCode is an online coding environment that allows users to write, run, save, share, and host code projects directly in the browser. The Service includes free and paid plans with different limits and features, as described on https://playcode.io/pricing.

3. Accounts

Some features require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Content & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all projects and content you create on PlayCode, including:

  • Source code you write
  • Files you upload
  • Code generated using AI features

PlayCode does not claim ownership over your projects or AI-generated output.

You grant PlayCode a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely as necessary to operate the Service (for example: running code, saving projects, or serving shared links).

5. Public & Private Projects

By default, projects are publicly accessible unless explicitly set as private.

  • Public projects may be viewed and accessed by anyone with the link.
  • Private projects are available only to Pro accounts.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you make public does not violate laws or third-party rights.

6. Commercial Use

You may use PlayCode for commercial, educational, and professional purposes, including building projects for clients, demos, or production use.

7. Third-Party Content & Packages

The Service may include or allow use of third-party libraries, frameworks, and packages (such as npm modules). Your use of such content is subject to their respective licenses.

PlayCode is not responsible for the functionality, security, or licensing of third-party code. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the licenses of any packages you use.

8. AI Features & Credits

PlayCode may provide AI-powered features that consume AI credits.

AI credit pricing, usage limits, and availability may change and depend on the pricing and costs of underlying AI providers. We do not guarantee fixed AI pricing or availability.

Unused AI credits do not roll over unless explicitly stated.

9. Subscriptions, Billing & No Refunds

PlayCode offers free and paid (Pro) subscription plans.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge applicable fees according to your selected plan.

All payments are final. No refunds are provided, including for partial usage, unused time, or unused AI credits.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

10. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use PlayCode for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hate speech or harassment
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content
  • Phishing, scams, or fraudulent activity
  • Malware, exploits, or infrastructure abuse
  • Copyright or trademark infringement
  • Attempts to bypass limits or security controls

Violation may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.

11. DMCA & Copyright Complaints

If you believe that content hosted on PlayCode infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request by contacting ruslan@playcode.io with:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work
  • Identification of the infringing content
  • Your contact information
  • A statement of good-faith belief
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

12. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time using the account deletion option available in your profile settings.

Upon deletion, your account and associated data may be permanently removed, subject to technical and legal requirements.

13. Termination by PlayCode

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, upon reasonable notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may, but are not obligated to, provide an opportunity to retrieve your content before deletion.

14. Intellectual Property (PlayCode)

All PlayCode platform software, interfaces, branding, and trademarks (excluding user projects) are owned by PlayCode or its licensors.

You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service without permission.

15. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or data preservation.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayCode shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

18. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PlayCode regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
