Do it yourself
#- Choose the name of your workspace at the top of the left panel, then Settings….
- Under the workspace, choose Usage. The page opens on This Month.
- Pick a period: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year or All Time. The top line shows the credits used and the number of Messages; a workspace with more than one member also shows Active members.
- Read Spending by service. It has a row for each kind of spending, with its credits:
- AI, "chat + agents": the agent's work, with the number of Messages.
- A project marked AI Gateway: the AI requests that project's app made, with their calls and tokens.
- Email, "billing cycle": "sent" and "included" for this billing cycle. Only recipients past the included amount cost credits.
- A Cloud app: Compute (hours awake times the price per hour), Disk and Traffic.
- Read By member: each person's credits, requests and last activity.
- Under Recent Activity, choose a request to open its Cost breakdown: Input, Output, Cache write and Cache read, each with its tokens and credits. Choose Load more for older requests.
To see what one chat spent, open the chat in its project and open the project menu. Its foot shows Spent in this chat and Context, how full the chat is. When a chat gets long, it adds: "Long chats reply slower and cost more - start a new chat for the next task."
If it doesn't work
#The page shows "All AI usage in this workspace is billed to" a name, and no numbers
#Only the Admins of a workspace see its usage. Ask one of them, or open your own Personal workspace.
"Could not load usage. Please try again."
#Choose Reload.
"No usage data for the selected period"
#Nothing was spent in that period. Pick a longer one, like This Month or All Time.
Today's Cloud app costs are missing
#Playcode adds up a Cloud app's computer costs once a day, at 03:10 UTC, and they appear under the day they were added up. Look again tomorrow.
One message you sent shows several requests
#The agent works in steps, and each step is its own request with its own cost. That is why Messages counts more than what you typed.
One request cost a lot
#Open it in Recent Activity. When Cache write is the largest part, the app explains that a one-time copy of your prompt was saved, and that follow-up messages reuse it for less. See Credits went faster than expected for the usual causes and fixes.
Limits
#- Usage does not group by chat: use Spent in this chat for one chat.
- Email always shows the current billing cycle, whatever period you pick.
- The agent cannot tell you what earlier work cost or how many credits are left: it does not see them.
- To set a monthly email line or a task budget, see Credits and balance.
