Build and publish your first site
Type one sentence about the site you want, and Playcode's agent builds the first version while you watch the preview. When you like it, choose Publish, and the site is live on a free Playcode address.
- Open playcode.io/new. Home asks "What are we building today?"
- In the box, describe the site in one or two sentences: who it is for and what visitors should do there. For example: "A website for my bakery in Berlin, with the menu, opening hours and a contact form." Send it.
- Sign in when Playcode asks. The window says "Continue with your request". Choose Continue with Google, or type your email, choose Email me a code and enter the 6-digit code from the email. A new account answers a few short questions first, like "Who are you building with?".
- The project opens and the agent starts work. For a new website it may first ask about the content and the look: answer in the chat, or choose one of the options it offers.
- Watch the preview beside the chat. It shows the site while the agent builds it. When the agent is done, try the site in the preview and ask for changes in the chat, like "Make the menu prices bigger."
- Choose Publish. For a static site, the window shows where it goes live, like "This becomes the live version at 12345.playcode.site.", and you choose Publish in it. For a Cloud app, Publish is in the preview's toolbar; on the first publish you can type a name in Custom Subdomain before you choose Publish.
- Wait for "Your site is on the internet." Open the address it shows: your site is live, and anyone can open it.
On the Free plan, the site shows a "Built with Playcode" banner, and its address uses the project's number. Pro and Max remove the banner and let you choose the name.
Next:
- Visitors see the version you published last. After each change, choose Publish again. See Publish a website.
- Give the site an address of its own: Buy a domain or Connect a domain you own.
- Learn how to steer the agent: How building with the agent works.
Ask the agent
Build a website for my bakery in Berlin, with the menu, opening hours and a contact form.
It builds the first version in a new project and shows it in the preview; you check it and decide when to publish.
