Organize Projects with Folders

Keep your workspace organized by creating folders for your projects. Folders support nesting, so you can create a hierarchy that matches your workflow.

Creating Folders

There are two ways to create a new folder:

  1. From Sidebar - Click the "+ New Folder..." button at the bottom of the folder tree
  2. Right-Click Menu - Right-click on any folder to create a subfolder inside it

Newly created folders appear in the sidebar tree and are automatically given the name "New Folder". You can rename them immediately or later.

Moving Projects to Folders

There are three convenient ways to organize projects into folders:

1. Drag and Drop

The fastest way! Simply drag any project row from the table and drop it onto a folder in the sidebar. You'll see visual feedback when hovering over a valid drop target.

2. Click Folder Column

Click on the folder name in the "Folder" column of any project row. This opens a dialog showing your folder hierarchy as a tree. Click any folder to move the project there, or select "No folder (Root)" to remove it from all folders.

3. Right-Click Context Menu

Right-click any project row in the table to open a context menu with options:

  • Rename - Change the project title
  • Move to Folder - Opens the folder selection dialog
  • Archive - Archive the project (move to Archive view)

Editing Projects from the Editor

When working on a project, you can also change its folder without going back to the dashboard. Simply click the project title in the editor header. This opens a popover where you can:

  • Rename the project
  • Move it to a different folder using the hierarchical folder tree

Managing Folders

Renaming Folders

Right-click any folder in the sidebar and select "Rename" from the context menu.

Deleting Folders

Right-click a folder and select "Delete". When you delete a folder, its projects are moved to the root level (no folder). The projects themselves are not deleted.

Note: The "Drafts" folder is a system folder and cannot be deleted.

Nested Folders

Folders can contain other folders, creating a hierarchy. There's no limit to how deep you can nest. Click the arrow icon next to a folder to expand or collapse it.

Special Views

The sidebar includes two special views at the top:

  • All - Shows all non-archived projects across all folders
  • Archive - Shows projects you've archived (at the bottom of the tree)

Tips

  • Use folders to group projects by client, course, technology, or any other criteria
  • Create a "Templates" folder for boilerplate projects you frequently clone
  • The search bar in the dashboard header searches across all folders
  • Click any folder in the tree to filter the table and see only that folder's projects
